Jenness Pond Island Project

My Jenness Pond Project is about connecting to my roots, documenting, as it does, a tiny island on a lake I am as intimate with as I am my own body. Growing up, I walked by this island to catch the school bus, often played and fished by her shores, once even falling through new ice, foolhardily trying to skate by her too soon. I think I even have a bodily memory being jostled by the rutted dirt road, riding by her while still in my mother's belly. I still pass by her daily. For all my 72 years, she has a constant companion.
